Welcome to The Friends of the Mitchell Community Public Library
Individuals, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to provide support for the programs and activities of the Mitchell Library.
Projects supported by the Friends have included:
- Microfilming the Mitchell Times at year's end
- Providing refreshments for library programs for children and adults
- Sponsoring the summer reading program for children
- Sponsoring the winter reading program for adults
- Sponsoring the end-of-summer Scholastic Book Fair
- Raising money for the library's endowment fund
- Purchased a bird feeder and bird bath to set in the library's Main Street flower bed
- Purchased NEW DVD movies for the library.
The Friends of the Mitchell Library organization meets the second Monday, every other month at 7 p.m. in the library meeting room. The last meeting in 2008 will be Monday December 8 and the dates for 2009 to be set at that meeting. The Friends of the Library will have a membership drive in March and April 2009. Please join the FOL and support your library!
If you are interested in participating in the group's money raising activities or would like to donate funds to the group, notify a staff person who will provide you with the information you need. The library accepts book and magazine donations. If the items are not used by the library, the FOL places them in the booksale. All proceeds support the library activities.
