Who Care for Children and Young Adults
Watch the library newsletter for announcements of programs of interest to you. If you have a particular program in mind, feel free to request the program. Time, manpower, and financial restraints may limit our ability to provide a particular program but your input will help us in future planning.
- Preschool and kindergarten teachers, daycare providers, and parents are invited to check out our selection of large book kits, or "Stories to Go", near the public access catalogs. We currently have 20 kits available. Each kit contains a minimum of three different stories, a fingerplay sheet, and a craft sample and template. Six of the kits include felt board stories and traveling felt boards. Only two kits may be on loan at a time.
- The Parent Shelf, located in the easy reading section, has books, not only to help you with your all-important job of parenting, but for homeschooling, as well. Although we do not provide home school curricula, we do try to have support materials, such as math workbooks, to assist you, in the same way we provide limited support to the local schools.
- The children's department provides tours of the library as requested in advance by homeschool groups, public school classroom teachers, or preschools. The group or organization must be recognized as being located within our taxing district to be provided with this service.
